Apogee to Host Roundtable at NACUBO 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting

Austin, TX – July 7, 2020 – Apogee, the only managed services provider solely focused on higher education, today announced that the company will host a roundtable session on strategic planning at the upcoming National Association of College & University Business Officers (NACUBO) 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting, July 13 -17, 2020. The roundtable session “Safeguarding Higher Education through Technology Strategic Planning” will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, beginning at 3:00pm EDT.

Apogee CTO Rajiv Shenoy and Drury University CIO David Hinson will lead the discussion spotlighting learnings and insights from an Apogee study of 491 strategic plans from colleges and universities around the country. Technology underpins many of the strategic initiatives such as Student Outcomes, Pedagogy, Student Life, and Planning and Governance, yet many smaller institutions aren’t investing in technology intentionally or strategically. Technology initiatives have not kept pace with available innovations in teaching and learning technologies, which Apogee found may have resulted in opportunity costs that have likely impacted them during the COVID-19 crisis.

Shenoy and Hinson will discuss recommendations and actions higher ed leaders can take now to shore up their strategic plans to safeguard their institution during and after the crisis.

“Higher education, and life, will now be forever seen through the eyes of before COVID-19 and after,” said Shenoy. “With technology playing an increasingly important role in higher ed innovation, our roundtable will shed light on how schools can strategically plan technology investments to help fulfill their mission, differentiate, and what it will take to win in a post COVID world.”

In addition to the roundtable, Apogee announced that it will be a Premier Sponsor of NACUBO 2020, NACUBO’s 50th annual meeting. The annual meeting provides an opportunity to discover the latest trends and knowledge in all areas of campus finance and administration. Built around the theme “We Are the Journey,” the Annual Meeting reflects on the state of higher education — where we’ve been and where we’re headed.
