Why:

Demographics are shifting, and although enrollment decline has slowed and there are some bright spots, a path back to pre-pandemic enrollment levels is growing further out of reach. Whether because of the pandemic, the high price tags, or the ease of landing full-time work, freshman enrollment declined 1.5 percent across all types of institutions in Fall 2022. But new students will show up if and when they see campuses committed to delivering what they want and need and when college leaders develop new models that provide value to nontraditional populations.
