Austin, TX – Most universities in the US must fend for themselves when it comes to move-in season, but more than 100 have mastered the “art of the move-in,” thanks to Apogee, higher education’s largest managed technology provider. In August & September, Apogee’s client service managers and field services teams visited a record number of partner colleges to provide in-person support and guidance to ensure a flawless roll-out of the company’s suite of services – everything from Wi-Fi to video solutions – so students have all they need to hit the ground running. The overwhelmingly positive feedback along with the record number make this Apogee’s most successful move-in supports to date.
Apogee’s one-stop suite of move-in services includes training for Resident Assistants (RAs) so they can answer questions like “how can I get wireless access,” providing cheat sheets on how to get support for devices from desktops and laptops to gaming consoles and Smart TVs, and hosting back-to school pizza parties to explain how to easily get online and get support. Apogee also ensures students are familiar and can take full advantage of other services offered by their schools, such as cable TV, IPTV, and various video solutions.
“Apogee’s goal is not only to personalize the move-in experience, but also to set these students up for success,” said John O’Brien, Apogee’s Regional Vice President – South Region. “Our move-in support services are one of the key benefits that our partner colleges receive to better meet their strategic initiatives while welcoming a new class of freshmen and transfer students.”
Among the 100+ campus partners participating in this year’s “move-in” experience were the College of Charleston, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Purdue University, Delaware Valley University, University of Texas Dallas and University of Texas Tyler.
“The Apogee team were quick to produce whatever marketing materials we needed for roll-out: a welcome-to-Apogee letter, PowerPoint slides, posters, and half-page cheat sheets,” said Holy Binder, Executive Director, Housing & Residential Programs, Drury University. “I appreciated that they sent several employees to our campus for move-in weekend, ensuring hands-on help to our residents and training for our RAs.”
