How to Use Strategic Planning to Become An Innovator

By: Teresa de Onis

In December, we announced on this blog the launch of our interactive report on the State of Higher Ed Strategic Planning, challenging you to confront the future by breaking down institutional silos and leveraging data to drive strategic planning across your campus. It is our goal to help higher ed make strategic planning decisions that tie initiatives around student outcomes, pedagogy, funding, population, and governance to technology strategies to ensure preparedness that leads to innovation and resilience.

Today we formally announced the availability of the interactive report via a press release, and I’m thrilled that our partner AICCU (Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities) has found the report to be valuable for their members.

We will help you navigate the valuable information in the interactive report in a few ways. First, we’ll release insights here on our blog and via LinkedIn on a regular basis in the form of mini-reports, infographics, videos, and charts. Subscribe to our newsletter to get these insights delivered straight to your inbox.

We’re kicking off the data deluge with a fun infographic that showcases the Innovators in our study. Innovators are the 40% of higher ed institutions in our study that had online learning initiatives in place prior to the pandemic. Below we paint a profile of the Innovator institution and why these schools were better positioned to both weather the rush to emergency remote learning and are prepared for the blended learning future that will drive more enrollment, equity, and accessibility in higher ed.

To celebrate this launch, we’re offering 10 spots for one-on-one personalized walk-throughs of the report so you can review data points of most interest to you, see how your campus compares, and obtain advice on next steps in your strategic planning process. Registration is open to higher ed leaders in any of the six initiative areas our report covers and will remain open until the spots are filled or March 31, 2021. Register now!
